Clark Retirement Community recently celebrated the grand opening of its $40 million expansion to its Keller Lake campus at 2431 Forest Hill Ave. SE.
The independent living community offers five unique floor plans to residents and consists of 52, 1- and 2-bedroom luxury apartments to meet the increased demand for independent senior living in Grand Rapids.
On-site amenities include walking paths, a fitness center, community garden, underground parking, pet-friendly amenities, a piazza for socializing and entertainment, two restaurants and a bistro.
“It’s more important than ever that senior living communities provide environments that are flexible to the needs of a growing and active generation,” said Brian Pangle, CEO, Clark Retirement. “We embarked on this expansion project because we knew investing in an environment that caters to an active lifestyle was the right thing to do to provide our residents with a living experience unlike anything else in the greater Grand Rapids area.”
Holland-based EV construction served as construction manager for the Keller Lake expansion.
“The completion of the Clark at Keller Lake project wraps up an effort over three years in the making,” said Dan Behler, director of health care and senior living at EV Construction. “During that time, a dedicated team of men and women poured their hearts and talents into the design, planning and construction of this truly unique community. We are grateful to Clark and to Plante Moran for entrusting us as their construction management partner and to each of our team members and trade partners who brought this exciting concept to life. The next several weeks will be proud ones as we watch residents move into their new homes and begin their next chapter at Keller Lake.”
Clark Retirement Community employs 300 people between its two locations in the Grand Rapids area, Keller Lake and Clark at Franklin located at 1551 Franklin Ave. SE.
