A Grand Rapids resident recently opened an in-home care franchise after observing a need within her own family.

Hestle Yang is a new franchisee of Right at Home, at 3737 Lake Eastbrook Blvd. SE, Suite 208, in Grand Rapids. The office opened Monday, March 28, and now is accepting new client inquiries.

Right at Home provides in-home care to older people and adults with disabilities who want to live independently. The Grand Rapids location offers assistance with homemaking, personal care, transportation and companionship.

Yang said she decided to pursue the opportunity with Right at Home after witnessing her mother care for her father when he became ill. She said some people aren’t fortunate to have a family member step in as a caregiver.

“I was raised in a family-centered environment, and when I saw my mom become a caregiver for my dad and step into that new calling, it was very inspiring to me,” Yang said.

After working as a certified public accountant for 15 years, Yang said she enjoys helping people and building close relationships. She and her family moved to Grand Rapids in 2019, and she hopes to make more connections within the community after the impact of COVID-19.

“I’m excited that (Right at Home) is now open and excited to be adding to the quality of life for people in the community,” Yang said.

Right at Home is a national brand with more than 600 franchise locations across the U.S. and seven other countries. The global office is based in Omaha, Nebraska.

Most offices are independently owned and directly employ all caregiving staff members.
