A local custom health care service provider for individuals and businesses hired a new director of operations.
HealthBar appointed Jeff Skinner to the newly created role of director of operations. In this position, he will lead the company’s drive-thru medical centers, health care partnership program, school nursing program and the human resources, IT and business administration divisions.
“I hope to impact the future of health care through the improved use of strategic planning, technology, integration and predictive analytics,” Skinner said. “Our nurse-driven movement at HealthBar has the potential to not just change the health care landscape in West Michigan, but across the entire country. I am grateful to be a part of this world-class team.”
Skinner has 14 years of clinical and administrative health care experience. In his most recent position, he served as the manager of nursing informatics at Spectrum Health, where he led efforts to maintain the nursing informatics’ operating budget, nursing clinical care, IT systems and shared governance council leadership. Other former positions include emergency department nursing manager at Spectrum Health and providing operational and clinical leadership for the West Michigan Vaccination Clinic at DeVos Place.
Skinner holds a Bachelor of Science in nursing and Master of Health Administration from Grand Valley State University and is a published author, writing works focused on predictive analytics and resource allocation. He also is a member of the National Leadership Honor Society, Emergency Nurses Association, Omicron Delta Kapa and the American College of Healthcare Executives.
HealthBar expanded its operations over the past year, with its first services surrounding COVID-19 testing, including at-location testing for employees. The organization plans to further develop its service offerings through its new health care partnership program, which will offer employers efficient and cost-effective concierge medical support, navigation and chronic disease management services.
