Mercy Health Muskegon appointed Linda Dunmore as its chief nursing officer (CNO), after a nationwide search.

Since May 2021, Dunmore has been serving in an expanded role at Mercy Health as senior director of clinical services and interim CNO. She plans to continue the oversight of her teams while Mercy Health looks to fill her previous position.

Dunmore has been with the organization for 30 years and spent 20 of those years in clinical leadership.

“Linda is a trusted and respected leader, with a long tenure at Mercy Health Muskegon and her leadership style really resonates with our staff,” said Gary Allore, president of Mercy Health Muskegon. “Linda demonstrates passion for our mission, and her experience in both the clinical and administration settings is vital to the ongoing, transformational work taking place in Muskegon. We are thrilled to have her.”

Dunmore acquired her passion for nursing quality and patient safety from her work in long-term care, with most of her bedside experience from the intensive care unit.

She holds a master’s degree from St. Joseph’s College of Maine and a bachelor’s degree in nursing from University of Detroit Mercy. She also attained her green belt in Lean Six Sigma through the University of Michigan and maintains many other professional certifications.
