Perrigo recently held a sneak peek of its new North American corporate headquarters in downtown Grand Rapids.
The Dublin-based maker of self-care products on Wednesday, June 29, held a sneak-peek grand opening ceremony for project partners that included several local dignitaries, including Grand Rapids Mayor Rosalynn Bliss and The Right Place President and CEO Randy Thelen.
Perrigo’s new headquarters building is at 430 Monroe Ave. NW at Michigan State University’s (MSU) Grand Rapids Innovation Park.
The project, which began construction in April 2021, represented a $45 million investment. It was completed by Health Innovations Partners — a real estate development joint venture of Rockford Construction/Rockford Development, Walsh Construction/Walsh Investors and Murphy Development Group.
Perrigo’s corporate functions and Consumer Self-Care Americas employees will occupy 63,550 square feet on the top three floors of the 125,000-square-foot building, which features a working café, terrace and office space designed to support collaboration and personal wellness.
Perrigo has more than 4,000 team members in West Michigan and approximately 10,000 globally. The company will house approximately 150 of these employees in the new building.
“As the newest member of MSU’s Innovation Park, Perrigo will work alongside thought leaders dedicated to consumer well-being and pursue collaborative efforts focused on breakthroughs in life sciences,” the company said.
The sneak-peek celebration featured speakers including Murray Kessler, president and CEO of Perrigo; Mike Mraz, president of real estate development at Rockford Construction; Bliss; Thelen; and Dr. Norman Beauchamp Jr., executive vice president for health sciences at Michigan State University.
Perrigo employees will move into the new space within the next couple of weeks.
