A local health system has appointed a new regional market leader who will oversee two more hospitals.
Effective Jan. 1, Andrea Leslie will take on an expanded role as Spectrum Health’s northeast regional market leader and president of the system’s hospitals in Big Rapids, Greenville, Lakeview and Reed City.
Leslie has been president of the Greenville and Lakeview hospitals since 2016.
“Andrea has proven to be an invaluable asset to the communities surrounding United and Kelsey hospitals, and we anticipate she will also be a very active leader in Big Rapids and Reed City,” said Gwen Sandefur, president, Spectrum Health Hospital Group.
As a regional market leader, Leslie will oversee direction for the four hospitals to improve the health of the communities they serve.
Leslie began her career as a registered nurse for Spectrum Health Blodgett Hospital in 1997 and worked at United Memorial Hospital in Greenville from 1999 to 2001.
Leslie became director of nursing operations for Butterworth and Blodgett hospitals in 2011 and then became United’s chief nursing officer in 2013, before her last promotion in 2016.
She is a board member for the Spectrum Health Foundation, an advisory board member for the Ferris State University School of Nursing undergraduate program and a board member for the Greenville Area Chamber of Commerce.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Detroit Mercy and a master’s degree in nursing administration from Grand Valley State University
