A health system has opened a new primary care and urgent care facility in a Grand Rapids suburb.

The new $7.8-million Mercy Health facility in Jamestown Township, at 3925 32nd Ave., opened for patients on Nov. 8.

Construction began on Feb. 7.

The 20,600-square-foot facility was built to offer patients in the growing area more convenience, aligning several key health care services under one roof.

The facility also offers X-ray, ultrasound, lab and workplace health services. A pharmacy is opening in the facility later this year.

It is the health system’s second location in Ottawa County, with the other being in Jenison.

Dr. Mark Jary is the facility’s leader.

There are 45 staff members working in the facility in various roles: providers; nurses; lab services; X-ray and ultrasound technicians; pharmacists; security; administration and more.

The family medicine providers in the facility transferred from other Mercy Health locations: including Jary and Dr. Brian Decker from Jenison; Dr. Channing Finkbeiner from Caledonia; and Dr. Kathryn Kozminski, who was hired after completing a Mercy Health residency.

People can schedule an appointment at the facility by phone at 616-685-1500 or online.

The project was financed through Mercy Health’s parent company, Livonia-based Trinity Health.
