Herbruck’s Poultry Ranch opens on-site wellness clinic

Employees will not have to travel far for medical attention at a local poultry ranch.

Herbruck’s Poultry Ranch opened the Herbruck’s Employee Wellness Clinic last week. The clinic is on-site at 6683 S. State Road, Ionia.

“We’re proud to open a new wellness clinic that will help (employees) conveniently access health care services close to where they live and work,” said Greg Herbruck, president of Herbruck’s Poultry Ranch. “We’re focused on doing what’s best for our birds, our employees, our community and the environment, and we look forward to connecting our employees to the health care services they need to manage their own health and their family’s health.”

The clinic, which is approximately 1,300 square feet, has a fully renovated waiting area, free Wi-Fi, an equipped exam room, lab facilities and office space. The current seating allows for six patients at a time.

The health services are free for Herbruck’s employees and their dependents who are on Herbruck’s health plans. The clinic is operated by ProMedico, a provider of clinic management services.

Dana Harmon, FNP, will provide services such as physicals, lab work, vaccinations and flu shots; chronic disease management for conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and asthma; and more. She has decades of experience in family medicine, emergency medicine and chronic disease management.

The poultry ranch, founded in 1958, is a fourth-generation family egg producer. It has more than 6 million laying hens, supplying farm eggs to retailers and foodservice outlets, including McDonald’s.

It currently has 950 team members who work for Herbruck’s in areas of egg production and processing, including breeding and selecting genetic traits, raising pullets, providing care for laying hens, inventory control and direct store delivery, growing grains for feed, blending freed to specialized formulas, producing and distributing dried fertilizer.

“At Herbruck’s, our team members are our family, and we want to ensure their health care needs are met,” Herbruck said.
