The Hispanic Festival will energize downtown for two days this weekend.

The 2014 festival is this Friday and Saturday in Grand Rapids at Calder Plaza, from 11:30 a.m.-11:30 p.m.

The festival is an annual celebration of the Hispanic community and features music, food, dancing and children’s activities.

A three-on-three futsal tournament will also be played Saturday. Futsal is a form of short-field soccer.

Admission is free.

The Grand Rapids-based Hispanic Center of Western Michigan produces the festival.

The nonprofit center was founded in 1978 to "provide unmet social services to the Hispanic community," according to its Facebook page.
