A new Hilton brand hotel has opened its doors in town.
The new Hilton Garden Inn is located in Grand Rapids, at 2321 E. Beltline Ave. SE, adjacent to the Western Michigan University campus and just north of Woodland Mall.
Holland-based Suburban Inns, a hotel development and management company, managed the design and construction of the four-story, 93,000-square-foot hotel, which it owns.
This is Suburban Inns’ first time working with the Hilton Garden Inn franchise.
The company owns and operates six other hotels and several restaurants in the state.

Nicholas Haughton, general manager of the hotel, said its location near the airport will accommodate business travelers, as will the hotel’s many amenities.
The hotel features 144 rooms, an indoor Michigan-shaped pool, indoor and outdoor spa, oversized recreation area, a fitness center and a banquet and meeting facility with a 150-person capacity.
Adjacent to the hotel, there’s a stand-alone, 8,839-square-foot Big E’s Sports Grill. It seats 220 customers indoors and 50 customers in an outside patio. Suburban Inns owns the sports bar.
The hotel also has a fresh garden market, featuring “local flavors” and souvenirs.
“We wanted to offer our guests something truly unique,” said Rachel Marti, assistant GM of the hotel.
