A new hotel is being planned for a medical complex in the area — the second in as many days.

Wyoming-based Granger Group said today it entered into a land-sale agreement with Stellar Hospitality for the development of a four-story, 110-room Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott in Wyoming at Metro Health Village.

Construction on the $8-million project is expected to start this summer at 5970 Metro Health Way, with an opening planned for spring 2018.

Brighton-based Think Shop Architects is the architect on the project, and Stellar Hospitality is the project’s contractor. A bank partner has not been disclosed.

The hotel will feature rooms and suites for business and leisure guests, a business center, meeting spaces, a 24-hour fitness center and “health-conscious food options.”

Yesterday, Orion Real Estate Solutions, a division of Grand Rapids-based Orion Construction, and Chicago-based Gateway Investment Partners announced their plans for a $13-million Home2 Suites by Hilton at Metro Health Village.

Metro Health Village surrounds Metro Health Hospital and includes several other organizations: First & Main Senior Living; YMCA; Lake Michigan Credit Union; and Family Fare.

Granger Group is also planning two new retail buildings on Byron Center Avenue, “which will include several national tenants.”
