A local staffing firm is hosting an in-person job fair that will allow candidates to apply for positions without leaving their car.

Express Employment Professionals of Grand Rapids said it will host a job fair next week to fill 233 open positions for 50-plus area employers in the areas of light industrial and skilled trades.

The event will be hosted from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Wednesday at the Express Employment Professionals office at 1760 44th St. SW, Suite 10, in Wyoming.

Those interested in attending are asked to park in a marked parking space upon arrival. They will then speak with a recruiter through their car window to complete a basic questionnaire. Candidates who have résumés available can bring them, but they are not required. Express will then follow up with candidates throughout the week to complete a phone interview and match applicants with available jobs.

“We invite everyone in the community to stop by and safely apply for work from the comfort of their vehicle,” said David Robb, director of operations at Express Employment Professionals. “Local companies are open and looking for workers, and we are ready to get the Grand Rapids community back to work. We are expecting a great turnout for this event and are realistically hoping we can put several hundred people back to work by the end of the week.”

Participating companies are located in downtown Grand Rapids, Kentwood, Walker, Byron Center, Caledonia and more.

Open positions include warehouse, machine operations, maintenance technicians, machinists, delivery drivers, welders, assembly and more. Pay ranges from $12-$25 per hour.

More information is online.

Those who can’t attend can call the Express Employment Professionals office at (616) 281-0611 to schedule a phone interview.
