The region’s workforce development agency will seek to connect workers to more than 85 employers at a virtual hiring event.

West Michigan Works! will host a virtual job fair from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Wednesday. Job seeker registration is open online through Monday.

“As Michigan continues lifting pandemic-related restrictions, many employers have several urgent hiring needs,” said Amy Lebednick, business solutions director, West Michigan Works!. “Our monthly virtual job fair is an efficient platform for job seekers to meet with multiple employers, share their skills and experience, and discuss career opportunities.”

At the event, candidates will have the opportunity to connect with hiring managers and learn more about their open positions. More than 85 companies in the manufacturing, retail, agribusiness, health care and hospitality industries in Allegan, Barry, Ionia, Kent, Montcalm, Muskegon and Ottawa counties are signed up.

Some participating employers include Gun Lake Casino, AutoZone, Challenge Manufacturing, Skytron, Lakeside Surfaces Inc., Michigan’s Adventure, Kraft Heinz, Herbrucks Poultry Ranch, Clark Retirement Community, Spectrum Health, Sheridan Community Hospital, Mercy Health, Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital and Metro Health-University of Michigan Health.

The full list of participating employers is online.

West Michigan Works! also continues to offer a continuum of free resources to improve job seeker employment skills.

“We understand that the job search process can be daunting, especially if you’ve been unemployed or underemployed for a long period of time,” Lebednick said. “Whether it’s helping you build a résumé, preparing for an interview or connecting you with training opportunities, we can help you get back to work.”
