WSI Workforce Strategies Inc. will host a job fair in Grand Rapids next week to fill hundreds of open positions.

The career event will be held 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Wednesday at the firm’s location at 1960 28th St. SE in Grand Rapids.

“We have hundreds of openings for qualified workers throughout Grand Rapids, including Kentwood, Wyoming, Walker, Lowell and Hudsonville,” said Ana Post, branch manager at WSI Workforce Strategies Inc.

WSI works with various companies throughout Grand Rapids in industries including food manufacturing, light industrial, aerospace, facility services and more.

“Most job seekers don’t think of going to a staffing agency for help finding a permanent job, (but) many of the companies we work with are looking for workers they can hire in permanently,” said Steve Beebe, vice president at WSI.

Due to COVID-19, all applicants will have their temperatures taken with a temporal scanner prior to entering the building. Face masks are required inside, and if people don’t come with one, one will be provided. Standing areas are marked with 6-foot distancing, and there are hand sanitizer stations throughout the building.

WSI is anticipating a large turnout. To help expedite the process, job seekers are asked to bring two forms of identification and be prepared to pass a drug screening.

Applicants also can call the WSI office at (616) 957-8199 or go online for more details.
