A growing IT firm is looking for more than 20 new faces to fill full-time positions.
Open Systems Technology said that most of those jobs would be at its Grand Rapids office.
In the past two-and-a-half years, OST has gone from 55 employees to 141.
Grand Rapids-based OST also has offices in Detroit and Minneapolis with open positions.
“We’ve continued to grow in response to overall growth in our business and the demand that we are seeing,” said Tamara Walston lakiri, OST senior talent acquisition specialist.
She said that the firm is looking to add about 10 people to its custom application development practice, and those jobs include openings at every level, from positions for new grads to a management opening, as well as salespeople.
“Another group would be our data center solutions team,” Walston lakiri said.
She said that team is looking for consultants within the infrastructure space.
Managed services will also be bulking up.
“Managed services is another practice that we have seen tremendous growth in,” Walston lakiri said.
In addition, OST continues to look for independent contractors.
The firm has a regular stable of about 65 contractors that it works with regularly.
Walston lakiri said that OST has been very lucky to be able to retain the talented people it’s hired.
She emphasized that all the open positions are new jobs, not replacements for someone who’s left.
“We were just at an event last night . . . and everyone is having a hard time finding tech talent with the right skills,” Walston lakiri noted. “I think we have been fortunate that our opportunities and additions in hiring are due to growth.
“I think across Grand Rapids and Michigan, certainly, it’s a tight market for the talent that everyone is looking for,” she added.
