Michigan Works! is hosting a two day manufacturing job fair this month.
Job seekers must receive a personal invite in order to attend the career fair in southwest Michigan.
An invite to the career fair can be obtained by attending and completing one of two events on day one — which will include an employer panel, workshops, resume reviews and mock interviews to prepare job seekers for the career fair.
Approximately 10 companies are signed up to participate, including American Axle, Fabri-Kal, Humphrey Products, Janesville Acoustics, Stryker and Pfizer.
Michigan Works! said employers will be seeking to fill "all levels of open positions" in the manufacturing industry, such as customer service, logistics, machinists, warehouse and engineers.
“What an exciting time to be in manufacturing," said Jan Opalewski, HR manager at Fabri-Kal. “With the advancements in technology, manufacturing has become a career path giving employees ongoing opportunities to learn and grow.”
Jan. 27 at the Three Rivers Community Center, Three Rivers, 8 a.m.-3 p.m.
Jan. 28 at the Cube at Wings Stadium, Kalamazoo, 8 a.m.-3 p.m.
The career fair for candidates who earned invites after day one will be held on Jan. 29 in Kalamazoo at Wings Stadium, from 1-5 p.m., and job applicants must attend the full half-day event.
Applicants must arrive on time to both days in order to be admitted and should be dressed in business casual attire.
They should also bring several copies of their resume on both days — resumes will be reviewed on day one.
Registration for job applicants is required by Jan. 24 and must be done in person at 1601 S. Burdick St., Kalamazoo or 16587 Enterprise Dr., Three Rivers.
Employers can still sign up to participate in the day-two career fair.
