Kellogg Company is releasing a new flavor of its Frosted Flakes cereal.

The Battle Creek-based food maker said today it will release Chocolate Frosted Flakes, which will hit store shelves in November.

“We stay close to our fans to make sure we are delivering the cereal experiences they want most, which is what resulted in the delicious flavor of Cinnamon Frosted Flakes launched last year,” said Brad Schwan, Kellogg’s senior director of morning food marketing. “So when we found out chocolate was the next most requested flavor, we set to work right away.”

To make sure the chocolate flavor met expectations, Kellogg solicited feedback throughout the development process by letting customers taste-test how different cocoas interacted with the cereal flakes and the milk left at the bottom of the bowl.

The flavor pairs toasted flakes with roasted cocoa frosting.

Chocolate Frosted Flakes will be released in all major retailers and grocery stores next month, with a suggested retail price between $4.69 and $5.79.
