A local cider maker has blended up a special beverage for the city’s 10-day comedy festival.
LaughFest said yesterday it collaborated with Vander Mill to bring an “official beverage” called Cherry Chuckle to the seventh-annual event, March 9-19.
Vander Mill and LaughFest will introduce the cider blend to the public at a release party from 7-9 p.m. this Friday at Vander Mill’s Grand Rapids location, at 505 Ball Ave. NE.
The hard cider maker created Cherry Chuckle with Michigan Balaton cherry juice and described the drink as “slightly sweet" and "refreshingly tart."
“We are excited to get to know the Grand Rapids community more and collaborate with Gilda’s Club to release this cherry cider blend as the official beverage of LaughFest,” said Paul Vander Heide, owner, Vander Mill.
Vander Mill Grand Rapids will sell Cherry Chuckle on draft and in cans, and it will be on tap at Grand Rapids area restaurants and bars. A full listing of locations is online.
For every pint poured, $1 will be donated to Gilda’s Club Grand Rapids.
LaughFest 2017 includes free and ticketed events to more than 100 acts at venues in Grand Rapids, Lowell and Holland.
