LaughFest reveals lineup

Gilda’s LaughFest has announced the comedians who will headline its next “festival of laughter.”

The lineup released today features comedians who will entertain audiences in the area from March 8-18.


Cameron Esposito

She is a returning comedian, who has participated at other festivals, including Sundance and SXSW and appeared on Comedy Central, NBC, CBS, E! and Cartoon Network. She will be performing at The Pyramid Scheme in Grand Rapids on March 15 at 7:30 p.m. and March 16 at 9:30 p.m.

Bert Kreischer

He is also returning to Grand Rapids. The stand-up comedian is known for his storytelling. He has performed in front of sellout crowds around the country. He will perform at Fountain Street Church in Grand Rapids on March 16 at 8 p.m.

Tiffany Haddish

She became the first African-American woman to host “Saturday Night Live” last weekend. She was also in the movie “Girl’s Trip,” which was released in July. Haddish will be performing at Fountain Street Church on March 18 at 8 p.m.

Trevor Noah

He is the host of “The Daily Show.” Noah will be at DeVos Place in Grand Rapids on March 10.

Anjelah Johnson

She will be performing at Fountain Street Church on March 17 at 8 p.m. She is best known for her  viral video “Nail Salon.” Johnson has also made guest appearances on shows like “The Shield,” “Ugly Betty” and “Curb Your Enthusiasm.”

Greg Hahn

He is known for his physical humors and one-liners. Hahn has made numerous television, corporate and theater appearances in the U.S. and Canada. He will be at Gun Lake Casino in Wayland on March 15 at 7 p.m. and also in Lowell on March 16 at 7 p.m.

Maria Bamford

She is the creator of a web series called “The Maria Bamford Show.” It was screened at the Museum of Art and Design. She was the first female comic to have a half-hour on Comedy Comedy Central Presents. Bamford will be performing at Wealthy Theatre in Grand Rapids on March 10 at 8 p.m. and 10 p.m.

The festival

There will also be a comedy showcase featuring Best of the Midwest Competition, National Stand-up Comedy Showcase, LaughFest’s Best, Pop Scholars and River City Improv.

The 10-day event will also be accompanied by a “Weird Al” Yankovic event happening on March 10, and the Grand Rapids Symphony’s Second City comedy theater from March 16-18.

LaughFest Tickets, including badges, will be on sale Nov. 17 at 10 a.m.

Gilda's Club

The festival benefits Gilda’s Club of Grand Rapids.

The nonprofit provides free emotional health care to children, adults, families and friends on any kind of cancer journey or those grieving the death of someone in their lives due to any cause.
