Law firm adds six partners

A local law firm is starting the New Year with some new leadership.

Warner Norcross + Judd LLP announced it has elected six attorneys to partner at its Grand Rapids, Holland, Midland and Southfield offices.

Emily Cantor, Wyatt Istvan-Mitchell, Beth O’Laughlin, Margaret Stalker, Ford J.H. Turrell and Laura You were named partners at the firm.

Cantor practices at the firm’s Grand Rapids office. She specializes in business and corporate law. Cantor counsels publicly traded and privately held companies in mergers and acquisitions, contract development and review, corporate governance and compliance matters.

She is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and serves on the Western Michigan Young Professionals committee of the Association for Corporate Growth.

Cantor received her B.A. from the University of Michigan and her J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School.

O’Laughlin focuses on trust and estate planning and administration, succession planning, tax matters and wealth preservation at the firm’s Holland office.

She is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, State Bar of Ohio, Midland County Bar Association and Ottawa County Bar Association.

O’Laughlin earned her J.D. from the University of Toledo and B.A. from Central Michigan University.

Stalker specializes in litigation environmental law at the firm’s Grand Rapids office. She is a member of the American Bar Association, Federal Bar Association, State Bar of Michigan, Grand Rapids Bar Association and she serves on the board of directors for the Alano Club of Kent County.

She is a graduate of Wayne State University Law School, where she earned her J.D. and an alumnus of Saginaw Valley State University, where she received her B.A.

Turrell focuses on transactional counseling for the real estate and corporate sectors in the Grand Rapids office.

He is a member of the American Bar Association, State Bar of Michigan and Grand Rapids Bar Association. Turrell serves on the Embody board of directors and on the events committee for the Hospice of Michigan Foundation.

He holds a B.A. from Aquinas College, a M.A. from Antioch University and a J.D. from Michigan State University.

Istvan-Mitchell practices in the firm’s Southfield and Midland offices. Along with the Holland office, O’Laughlin also practices in the Midland office and You practices in the firm’s Southfield office.
