A national law firm has named a new member at its local office.
Dykema said last week its executive board elected Grand Rapids attorney Elisa Lintemuth to the member role.
Dykema has offices across Michigan and in several other states.
Lintemuth will join the firm’s labor and employment practice.
She will focus on employment litigation, commercial litigation, appeals and litigation tied to the Employment Retirement Income Security Act, or ERISA.
Lintemuth is experienced in defending employers, insurers and claims administrators in ERISA litigation involving claims for disability, life and health insurance benefits and retirement benefits.
She has defended employers in discrimination and wrongful discharge actions in both state and federal courts and in administrative charges before the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and Michigan Department of Civil Rights.
Lintemuth counsels and trains employers on their responsibilities under federal and state employment laws, such as the American with Disabilities Act, Family and Medical Leave Act, Age Discrimination in Employment Act, Fair Labor Standards Act and Michigan Elliott-Larsen Civil Rights Act.
She is a member of the board of directors of Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park and has done pro bono work for Legal Aid of Western Michigan.
She holds a J.D., summa cum laude, from the Michigan State University College of Law and a B.A., summa cum laude, in English and French from Denison University.
