Editor's note: A previous version of this article incorrectly stated the attorney is a new hire.
A local attorney has been named a member of his firm.
Detroit-based Bodman promoted Darren Burmania from senior attorney to member, according to the firm this winter.
He works out of the firm's downtown Grand Rapids office.
Burmania focuses his practice on banking, business, bankruptcy and debtor-creditor rights, as well as litigation and alternative dispute resolution.
He represents financial institutions and corporate clients in a variety of transactional and business law matters, including the sale and purchase of assets, real estate matters, contract issues, employment issues and intellectual property matters. He also has litigated many complex commercial disputes.
He is a member of the Business Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan and Grand Rapids Bar Association.
Burmania serves on the board of directors of Ele's Place Grand Rapids, a nonprofit dedicated to creating awareness of and support for grieving children and their families.
He holds a B.S. from Central Michigan University and a J.D. from Wayne State University Law School.
