There’s a new attorney at a local law firm.
Smith Haughey Rice & Roegge said this week that Tyler Anderson has joined its Grand Rapids office as an associate.
Anderson is practicing in the firm’s medical malpractice defense group.
Most recently, Anderson worked as a judicial law clerk for Justice Dan Schmidt of the Illinois Appellate Court, Third District.
Previously, he worked at Peoria, Illinois-based Heyl, Royster, Voelker & Allen as an associate attorney. While there, he focused on defense ligation. Some of his cases involved general tort defense, commercial litigation, toxic torts and appellate claims.
He is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and American Bar Association.
He earned his B.S., summa cum laude, in philosophy and history, in 2010 from Bradley University and holds a J.D., cum laude, from the Indiana University Maurer School of Law.
