Law firm hires attorney

A new attorney has joined a local law firm.

Warner Norcross + Judd LLP hired commercial litigator Brandon Cory. He will work in the firm’s Grand Rapids office, 111 Lyon St. NW.

Cory, a Greenville native, is an associate.

Cory was formerly an attorney at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP in Los Angeles, where he focused on ligation matters related to insurance, securities, cybersecurity and Securities and Exchange Commission investigations.

He has represented private equity funds with diverse portfolio companies and also clients in the financial services, insurance and technology industries.

Cory clerked with the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles providing eviction defense to indigent clients, while obtaining his law degree in California.

He was admitted to the State Bar of Michigan in 2018 and the State Bar of California in 2016, and is fluent in German and in Spanish.

Cory earned his J.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles School of Law in 2016 and he received his B.A. from the University of Michigan in 2013.
