A law firm in town has added a new attorney to its team.
Grand Rapids-based Bloom Sluggett said this summer it hired Danielle Dawson as an associate.
Dawson will focus her practice on federal litigation, criminal law enforcement and employment law.
Most recently, Dawson worked as an associate at McDonald Pierangeli MacFarlance, practicing insurance litigation, criminal law and employment law.
Previously, she was a federal asset forfeiture paralegal specialist with U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Eastern District of Michigan, where she worked with federal law enforcement agencies, including Homeland Security, the U.S. Marshal’s office and FBI.
She was also a legal secretary at Steven E. Bratschie & Associates for more than two years.
While studying in law school, Dawson worked at Grand Rapids Community College in the General Counsel’s Office as a paralegal, focusing on internal ethics investigations.
She is a member of numerous organizations: the Grand Rapids Bar Association; State Bar of Michigan; Prosecuting Attorneys Association of Michigan; Michigan Association of Municipal Attorneys; Michigan Municipal League and Michigan Townships Association.
She holds a bachelor's degree in business and communications from Michigan State University and a J.D. from the Western Michigan University Thomas M. Cooley Law School.
