A law firm with four Michigan locations has announced a new managing attorney for one of its offices in the region.

Kreis Enderle Hudgins & Borsos said last week that it has named Erika Salerno managing attorney of its St. Joseph office.

The office has been open since 2013 and was previously managed by the firm’s management committee.

The office’s growth led to the decision to expand the firm’s management team by adding a managing attorney to lead the St. Joseph location.

Kreis Enderle also has offices in Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo and Battle Creek.

New role

In her new role, Salerno will supervise a full-time legal staff of three as well as five attorneys.

Salerno said she will be “continuing to expand our involvement in the community and growing our client base to include businesses, municipalities and individuals who need legal advice on a wide variety of legal matters, from real estate and divorce to mergers and acquisitions.”

Salerno, who previously worked out of the firm’s Kalamazoo office, practices in the areas of divorce and family law and health care law.

She said she plans to expand her legal practice in Berrien County and will also continue to serve clients in Van Buren and Kalamazoo counties.

Legal background

For more than 15 years, Salerno has been assisting clients with family law matters, including drafting cohabitation and prenuptial agreements, as well as handling divorces involving complex marital estates.

Her health care practice focuses on analyzing health care business ventures under the Stark and Anti-Kickback laws, as well as handling HIPAA compliance matters.

She graduated magna cum laude from Drake University Law School and holds a master’s of law degree in health care from Loyola University Chicago School of Law and a bachelor’s degree from James Madison College at Michigan State University.

Community involvement

Salerno is a member of the Inforum Center for Leadership in Michigan and the Executive Women’s Golf Association.

She is a past member of the Michigan State Bar Family Law Section Council and the Kalamazoo Bach Festival Board of Directors.
