A local private trust bank has named its new CEO and executive leadership team.
Grand Rapids-based Legacy Trust said today it promoted Tracey Hornbeck to president and CEO.
In her new role, Hornbeck will lead Legacy Trust’s 20-member team of local advisors specializing in investments and wealth management. She will oversee the day-to-day operations of all aspects of the firm, with a focus on strategic planning, talent development and customer relationship management.
Hornbeck most recently served as chief operating officer and chief financial officer of the organization.
In addition to Hornbeck’s promotion, she has restructured at the top, elevating three senior vice presidents to the firm’s executive leadership team — Director of Wealth Management Mark Periard, Chief Investment Officer Laina Mills and Senior Operations Manager Melanie VanderHoff, who has been with Legacy since its founding.
“Our new leadership team brings tremendous experience and energy that reflect the hard-working and ethical culture of West Michigan,” Legacy Trust Board Chair Steve Heacock said.
Additionally, Legacy has added three new senior vice presidents as part of its growth strategy — Senior Portfolio Manager Jeffrey Dixon, Senior Trust Officer Kelly DeRidder and Director of Portfolio Management Steven Doorn.
“These new additions add depth and diversity, making a great team even stronger,” Hornbeck said.
Prior to joining Legacy Trust in 2016, Hornbeck was SVP and regional CFO for Fifth Third Bank, where she oversaw more than $16 billion in assets and more than 3,000 employees across a multi-state region.
For her work in the investment field, Hornbeck has been recognized as a Top Woman in Finance, Regional Thought Leader and YWCA Woman of the Achievement.
She also serves on the executive committees at John Ball Zoo and the West Michigan Center for Arts and Technology.
