Lighting manufacturer names GE vet VP of sales

A maker of lighting products has named a new vice president of sales with more than 30 years of experience in the industry.

EarthTronics in Muskegon said this week that it has hired Tripp Smith to help develop and execute new strategies for profitably and to increase sales opportunities and expand market share for EarthTronics in North America.

An accomplished sales executive, Smith most recently spent more than 22 years with GE Lighting in a variety of sales and leadership roles in both the retail and commercial lighting businesses.

He’s also held key sales and leadership positions with Philips Lighting, Osram Sylvania Lighting, Lithonia Lighting and Feit Electric.

Tripp earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration in marketing and finance at Memphis State University.

He resides in Fullerton, Calif.

“His expertise will be very important to EarthTronics as we continue to create and deliver energy-efficient lighting solutions for our distributors, retailers and customers,” said Kevin Youngquist, executive vice president of North America, EarthTronics.

EarthTronics, founded in 2007, develops lighting options that provide “a positive economic and environmental impact.”
