A security guard has been shot in the leg outside a parking garage near a local hospital.
WZZM TV reports the man had a non-life-threatening gunshot wound after being shot around 11 p.m. on Sunday near Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids.
Grand Rapids Police said the guard had confronted the suspect about why he was on the property and checking vehicles.
Spectrum Health said today that the guard has been treated and released.
It said access to the parking ramp has been fully restored.
Police said the suspected shooter, a man, fled and is being sought.
Police said the shooting happened amid an investigation into possible theft from vehicles in the area.
Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call police.
