A global manufacturer of energy management and sealing solutions has purchased a local adhesives fabricator.
Pleasanton, California-based Boyd Corporation said this week it acquired Grand Rapids-based Action Fabricators.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
“Action is a perfect match to Boyd’s core,” Boyd CEO Mitch Aiello said. “The business is highly complementary to our manufacturing competencies, customers, regions, markets, values and approach to business.
“We’re excited to welcome passionate new team members to our company.”
Action is an adhesive fabricator and flexible materials converting company, and Boyd is an energy management and environmental sealing solutions manufacturer.
Action will now operate as a division of Boyd.
Aiello said the acquisition strengthens Boyd’s “core competencies” in sealing, EMI shielding, electrical, acoustic and thermal insulation, vibration absorption, bonding and mechanical damping.
“Jon Rudolph and his team at Action have executed well in developing a strong and scalable business in the strategically important and dynamic end markets of automotive and medical solutions,” Aiello said.
The company did not comment on whether there will be any changes to the leadership team and employees of Action as it is absorbed into Boyd.
A company spokesperson said operations will continue “business as usual,” and the transition processes will be “seamless” to customers and suppliers.
