A family-owned engineering and manufacturing company has named a new president.

Grand Haven-based Haven Innovation hired Rick Grasman for the role, according to the company last week.

Haven Innovation founder Don Wisner will move into the position of chairman and chief innovation officer, and his son, Jake Wisner, will remain as Haven’s managing director.

“Rick is coming in to lead an already strong team and a solid portfolio of products,” Don Wisner said. “Our goal has always been to improve the lives of our customers, as well as for the people who work here and the community at large. Rick’s perspective and experience will help us broaden our reach and grow our impact.”

Grasman said he was thrilled to accept the role.

“Haven Innovation represents an opportunity to step into a company and not just provide insights and capital, but to provide visionary leadership combined with roll-up-your-sleeves hard work to develop and advance partnerships and opportunities for an incredible range of products and services,” Grasman said.

“The fact that Haven Innovation has so much momentum and is located right here where I live in Grand Haven, I’ll admit, was simply too exciting not to get involved in.”

Grasman has over 35 years of experience as an investor, developer and management expert for firms such as Welstand Capital, G.V.K. Development and Grasman Real Estate Investments.

He attended Calvin College and Grand Valley State University, according to LinkedIn.
