A manufacturing company in the area has a new sales and marketing director.
Byron Center-based Flow-Rite Controls said last week it hired Michael Leonard for the role,.
The position places Leonard in charge of Flow-Rite’s sales, marketing and customer service efforts for the company's battery-maintenance and marine businesses.
“Flow-Rite is thrilled to be able to add a skillful businessman with deep industry knowledge to our team,” said Todd Hart, EVP, Flow-Rite.
Leonard said he's “excited to leverage my experience in the industry to make a significant contribution to build on Flow-Rite’s success.”
Leonard has nearly 30 years of experience in the battery industry, including as director of OE sales and engineering at Johnson Controls and director of electric vehicle programs at Exide Technologies.
He has a business degree from Northwood University.
Flow-Rite Controls was founded in 1981 by Dan Campau, the company’s president.
It makes fluid-control devices for lead-acid batteries, recreational fishing boats and laboratory use.
