Jonathan Husby is the new president and CEO of ADAC Automotive, a supplier of mechatronic door handles to the global automobile industry.

ADAC is a family owned, privately held business headquartered in Grand Rapids, with additional manufacturing facilities in Muskegon and Saranac. The company, which employs more than 1,000 people, was previously helmed by Jim Teets, who served as CEO since 2007.

“Jon is a seasoned industry veteran who has a track record of skilled leadership and hands-on experience growing new and existing markets and adeptly serving a global customer base with numerous technologies and solutions,” Teets said.

Teets, who retired from his position, will remain on the board of directors.

“He is smart, capable and has earned a reputation among his team and the industry as a motivator, coach and mentor,” Teets said of Husby, who brings more than 25 years of global industry experience to his new role at ADAC.

In 2018, Husby became president and CEO of SEG Automotive North, and in 2020 took on an additional role as SEG’s senior vice president of global sales. He also has held global leadership positions at Tele Atlas, TomTom and Harman International.

A graduate of Albion College with an MBA from Wayne State University, Husby serves as a board member with several professional organizations and recently was named board chair of the Global Automotive Hall of Fame.

“As I get to know the incredibly talented team that built ADAC into the global powerhouse it is today, I also look forward to bringing all I’ve learned about motivating talent, inspiring innovation, profitably growing businesses and navigating the complexities of this ever-evolving industry,” Husby said.
