A manufacturer of rotary filling systems for the liquids industry is taking its expertise in UV-C light sanitation to the next level.

Holland-based Fogg Filler last month said it rolled out the Microb-Blaster Air Sanitizer to reduce pathogen transfer in indoor, high-traffic environments.

Fogg Filler has been using Microb-Blaster UV-C light sanitation in the packaging industry for 17 years to ensure packaging is sanitized before a food product is put inside it. The same patented technology is used in the new air sanitizer.

The Microb-Blaster Air Sanitizer provides an “active layer of protection and confidence” against airborne viruses “to ensure people are safe” indoors, in shared spaces, such as doctor’s offices, day care centers, restaurants or manufacturing facilities, according to Fogg Filler.

It comes in two models:

Microb-Blaster 2400 UV-C

The Microb-Blaster 2400 UV-C air sanitizer features rugged, commercial-grade components and polished stainless steel construction to stand up to any environment and years of continuous UV-C exposure. It has four, 30-inch UV-C lamps, multiple air filtration options and a powerful, yet quiet, 600-cubic-feet-per-minute blower. Its unique fully contained UV-C chamber means it can operate in any environment without risk of exposure to individuals around it, the company said. When placed centrally in a room, the unit’s carefully designed air distribution top creates a down-draft effect around the perimeter of the space to help push airborne particulates to floor level, away from occupants, so they can be drawn in, filtered, then passed through the high-intensity UV-C light chamber.

“This makes it the perfect choice for medium traffic shared work or public indoor areas, like multiple-occupant office spaces, conference rooms, break rooms, lobbies, waiting rooms, restaurants or classrooms,” the company said.

The Microb-Blaster 4800 offers another level of shared work or public indoor space active air sanitization. It features rugged, commercial-grade components and polished stainless steel construction, like the 2400 model. It also has four, 30-inch UV-C lamps, multiple air filtration options and a powerful, yet quiet, 600 cfm blower. Its unique extended height UV-C chamber allows the upper end of the high-intensity lamps to remain safely exposed above eye level. Any airborne particulates that become entrained into the rising column of air it creates are immediately exposed to direct UV-C light before they fall back on surrounding occupants.

“This feature is desirable when social distancing or masks are just not feasible,” the company said. “Multiple units can be deployed throughout large, high-traffic areas like multiple occupant office spaces, hallways, cafeterias, assembly lines, food or beverage processing areas, locker rooms, classrooms, restaurants or auditoriums.”

The units are available through Fogg sales representatives by calling (616) 786-FOGG (3644) or visiting foggfiller.com/air-sanitizer.
