An outdoor footwear brand appointed a new vice president of U.S. sales.
Merrell, a brand of Rockford-based Wolverine Worldwide, said Monday that it appointed Alex Brown to the position.
He will report directly to Merrell’s global brand president, Chris Hufnagel.
“We’re thrilled to have Alex join the Merrell team. He brings a genuine passion for the outdoors, along with extensive relationships within and beyond the outdoor industry,” Hufnagel said. “We look forward to bringing Alex’s insights and knowledge to Merrell and working with him to continue growing, building and protecting this iconic brand — along with sharing the power of the outside with Merrell consumers around the world.”
Brown joins Merrell after having spent his career in the outdoor and active lifestyle industry, most recently serving as senior sales director for The North Face, a division of VF Corp.
Prior to that, he founded and managed his own sales and marketing agency and previous to that had senior sales roles with Pearl Izumi and Playmakers, one of the nation’s premiere run specialty retailers.
Brown holds a Bachelor of Arts in human resources from Michigan State University.
