An Austrian furniture components supplier recently chose a new president for its North American headquarters based in Kentwood.

Deutschlandsberg, Austria-based LOGICDATA — a manufacturer of adjustable furniture and intelligent mechatronic components for the home and office markets — said it promoted Dexter Weber to the role of president of LOGICDATA North America, effective in March.

Weber most recently served as sales and marketing manager of LOGICDATA North America.

“Dexter is a proven and effective leader who has garnered the trust and respect of LOGICDATA leadership, associates and customers,” said Johannes Gradwohl, CEO of LOGICDATA. “I have every confidence that Dexter’s direction and drive will serve to strengthen and grow our strong partner relationships and that he will continue to be a natural ambassador and resource for the office and bedding industries, including his many West Michigan relationships.”

Weber replaces Stefan Knappitsch, who is returning to the company’s headquarters in his native Austria for the role of quality management and environmental management systems coordinator for its ISO9001 and ISO14001 certification programs.

LOGICDATA said Knappitsch exited following “successful guidance” in moving and expanding LOGICDATA’s local footprint, which includes a new, 50,000-square-foot headquarters at 5300 Broadmoor Ave. SE in Kentwood.

In his new role, LOGICDATA said Weber will implement the company’s global strategies and lead the continued growth of LOGICDATA’s North American operations with a focus on creative, technological solutions for clients’ needs.

In his previous role managing sales and marketing, Weber “was instrumental in a series of successful ‘smart office’ product launches,” LOGICDATA said.

Additionally, Weber spearheaded LOGICDATA’s foray into the burgeoning adjustable bedding market with its SILVER Series adjustable bed frames and, most recently, SILVERsensor, an innovative sleep wellness system.

Prior to joining LOGICDATA, Weber oversaw customer acquisition and account management for Bursma Electronic Distributing in Benton Harbor and held a lead sales position for PepsiCo in West Michigan.

A Michigan native, Weber holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Grand Valley State University.

Founded in 1997 by Walter Koch — an engineer turned entrepreneur who is no relation to the American Koch brothers — LOGICDATA is a global supplier to the office and residential furniture markets.

The company has over 275 employees at its locations in Kentwood, Austria, Slovenia, Croatia and China.
