An industrial water treatment finance and operations platform acquired a West Michigan water treatment solutions company.

Dover, Delaware-based WTRBox LLC recently acquired Walker-based J. Mark Systems, according to Grand Rapids-based Calder Capital, the mergers and acquisitions (M&A) firm that represented the seller in the transaction.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Founded by Mark Zeilbeck in 1984, J. Mark Systems currently has eight employees working out of one location at 3696 Northridge Drive NW, Suite 10, in Walker.

The company designs, builds and assembles water treatment solutions for industrial plants across the country and overseas. The systems it creates prepare water for use in manufacturing and treat the water before it is discharged or recycled.

J. Mark Systems has installed water treatment solutions for a variety of industries, including automotive, aerospace, electronics, appliances and metal tube manufacturing.

After running the company for 30-plus years, founder and CEO Zeilbeck decided to retire and sell.

“Mark is a great guy; I really enjoyed working with him,” said Matt Uhl, of Calder Capital, the lead M&A adviser who represented Zeilbeck in the deal. “Helping him close this deal was a very rewarding experience.”
