Organizers of a local amphitheater summer concert series have revealed three initial acts.

Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park announced today a partial lineup for its 2017 Fifth Third Bank Summer Concerts at Meijer Gardens, including St. Paul & The Broken Bones, Four Voices — featuring Joan Baez, Mary Chapin Carpenter and the Indigo Girls — and Jethro Tull by Ian Anderson.

The full 30-show lineup will be announced in April.

Members of Meijer Gardens may purchase tickets at a $5 discount during a members-only pre-sale April 29 through May 12.

Tickets go on sale to the general public May 13.

More information on prices and purchasing locations will be available after the release of the full lineup in mid April.

Three initial acts

June 9: St. Paul & the Broken Bones, a gospel-tinged ensemble with a retro-soul garage sound

June 12: Four Voices: Joan Baez, Mary Chapin Carpenter and Indigo Girls Amy Ray and Emily Saliers, four long-time friends and renowned folk musicians on a 10-stop group tour

Aug. 18: Jethro Tull by Ian Anderson, the flute player and vocalist behind Jethro Tull celebrates his 49th year as an international recording and performing musician in 2017

Meijer Gardens Amphitheater

The 1,900-seat, general-admission amphitheater at Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park in Grand Rapids, at 1000 East Beltline Ave. NE, features an eclectic mix of musicians in concert each summer, rain or shine.

Concert-goers may bring blankets or low-rise chairs to sit on. Low-rise chairs are defined as 12 inches maximum from the ground to the front of the seat bottom and 32 inches maximum to the top of the chair back in the highest position. A limited number of standard-height chairs are available to rent.

Food and alcoholic beverages are available at the concessions counter, or concert-goers may bring their own food, bottled water and non-alcoholic beverages.
