Meijer is bringing its home delivery service to the lakeshore.

Walker-based Meijer said today its partnership with Shipt is heading to the lakeshore following a rollout of the service in Grand Rapids in March.

Meijer will begin the service in Grand Haven, Muskegon, Benton Harbor, Holland, Stevensville and South Haven on May 25, as well as in Traverse City on May 23.

Customers in those markets will be able to shop from more than 55,000 products for delivery from Meijer. Delivery can be completed in less than an hour in some cases.

Shipt memberships are $99 for a year, with orders of more than $35 receiving free delivery.

Detroit was the first market for the Meijer and Shipt partnership last year. The company now offers delivery service to more than 1.6-million households.

Meijer expects to continue its expansion of the delivery service throughout the Midwest the rest of the year.

“We are excited to expand our relationship with Shipt, because together we can offer customers across the Midwest a whole new level of convenience, product variety and service not available before,” Meijer President and CEO Rick Keyes said.
