A chain of clothing stores based in Montreal has opened its first location in the region — and the state.
Garage opened a store in Woodland Mall in Grand Rapids last week, at 3195 28th St. SE.
Garage sells “effortlessly stylish” denim, casual clothes, activewear and accessories for “fun-loving girls,” according to its Facebook page.
The store is currently hiring.
The chain, which serves 152 locations worldwide, plans to open a second Michigan store in Novi on May 14.
Shoppers at Garage can "expect the season's hottest denim, the latest must-have styles and everyday fashion basics for teen girls and the young at heart," says Woodland Mall’s website.
"With stores across the world, Garage is known for its on-trend clothing."
Garage and the clothing store Dynamite are the two main brands of Group Dynamite.
The first Garage store opened in Montreal in 1975.
In the last few years, the brand has “shared its fashion message and store experience to teens south of the border, with a recent expansion into the U.S. and most recently, international expansion in the United Arab Emirates,” says the chain’s Facebook page.
