A local nonprofit has named the new director of operations for its staffing agency.

Grand Rapids-based Guiding Light said this month it promoted Stephanie McKinnon to the role for The Job Post, which provides job placement services for individuals who are temporarily unemployed or seeking career advancement.

Most recently, she served as a senior human resources administrator at The Job Post.

McKinnon will now oversee business development, employee relations and day-to-day management at the agency.

She has worked in managerial and HR positions for more than 15 years.

Previously, McKinnon worked as an HR supervisor at XPO Logistics and a director of recruitment at ITT Technical Institute.

“Stephanie’s management experience and time as senior human resources administrator for The Job Post uniquely positioned her as the perfect director of operations,” said Stuart Ray, executive director of Guiding Light and president of The Job Post. “Her knowledge of the organization and the community, as well as her leadership skills will be an incredible asset to The Job Post and participating companies.”

She holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing and an M.B.A. from Davenport University.

She also volunteers as a youth soccer coach at a local YMCA.

“In my role as senior human resources administrator of The Job Post, I was able to grow the organization, improve efficiency and increase revenue,” McKinnon said. “I’m excited for this next step as the director of operations to continue that trajectory and make The Job Post successful for both employees and the companies they work for.”
