A bank vice president has been named a nonprofit’s first chief administrative officer.
Becki Postma began the role last month for Heart of West Michigan United Way after 25 years at Fifth Third Bank.
In her new role, Postma oversees United Way’s day-to-day operations and internal programs.
“The thing that appealed to me about United Way is it’s not just one area. It facilitates and feeds the needs in many areas,” Postma said. “I have a passion for kids, but there’s so much out there that our community needs, and this organization serves as that one point of contact to facilitate a connection with resources people probably don’t even know are out there.”
In Postma’s most recent position as Fifth Third’s retail operations support manager and vice president, she oversaw more than 1,100 bank branches across the country.
Postma began at Fifth Third, formerly Old Kent Bank, as a customer service representative while she was a college student.
She has a B.S. in accounting and finance from Trinity Christian College.
Postma has been a Kids’ Food Basket volunteer for the past six years and is on the nonprofit’s grand opening committee.
She’s also a softball coach for Southern Little League and is on the finance committee and worship committee for Mayfair Church.
