This weekend, the party is moving to Grand Rapids’ Madison Square neighborhood.

LINC Community Revitalization in Grand Rapids, a neighborhood revitalization nonprofit, is throwing its fifth-annual Rock the Block party this Saturday from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. at the corner of Madison Avenue and Hall Street.

The event will feature a street market and resource fair, activities for families and children and live entertainment from rapper Kool Moe Dee, who will perform on LINC’s main stage from 5-6 p.m.

The event will also feature the LINC BBQ Challenge, which will have six barbecue teams compete for the title of LINC Community Grill Master and a cash prize.

Organizers expect the event to draw about 7,000 people.
