A local nonprofit is hosting its State of the Child event next week.

The annual event by Grand Rapids-based Wedgwood Christian Services brings together community leaders, Wedgwood experts and students to talk about what kids and families are facing and offers insights on how to provide support.

A panel at the event will be moderated by Maranda of WOTV 4.

The event is April 30 from 8-10 a.m. at Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park in Grand Rapids.

Tickets are $25 for the public and $15 for students.
