A group of partners are producing the Michigan Cyber Security Conference downtown this week.
The conference will be on Wednesday at the Amway Grand Plaza and be presented by several organizations: Trivalent Group, BBB Serving Western Michigan, West Michigan Cyber Security Consortium and Michigan Small Business Development Center.
The conference will feature a live hacking demo and keynote presentation by Corey Nachreiner, chief technology officer at WatchGuard Technologies, who has presented at the RSA Conference and at events hosted by Gartner and the InfoSec Institute, among others.
“I am honored to be invited back to the Michigan Cyber Security Conference for the second year in a row,” Nachreiner said. “I’m excited to share what I’ve learned in the past 10 years of evaluating and making predictions about information security trends, and I hope to provide actionable steps to help audience members keep their companies protected for whatever is to come.”
A variety of topics will be discussed at the conference: new trends and tools; partnering for success; myths of securing the cloud; and security in a blockchain world.
The conference will also offer a number of breakout sessions on best practices for cybersecurity.
“The Michigan community is committed to staying abreast of trends in cybersecurity and has proven to have vast interest in learning opportunities like this one,” said Larry Andrus, CEO, Trivalent Group. “Our keynote speaker, presenters and panelists will provide attendees with the knowledge they need to help keep their organizations secure.”
