A group of local partners are producing an art exhibition at venues across downtown this weekend.
Avenue for the Arts, in collaboration with Kendall College of Art and Design and Downtown Grand Rapids Inc., will host the annual Art.Downtown from noon to 9 p.m. on Saturday.
Trolleys will transport attendees to "a multitude of restaurants, galleries, museums, businesses, coffee shops and more,” according to event coordinator Ian Thompson.
Participating venues for the free event include more than 20 sites along the South Division corridor. No-cost trolley rides will be available to transport attendees to the Urban Institute for Contemporary Art, Grand Rapids Art Museum, DeVos Place, Site:Lab and more.
KCAD will host multiple exhibitions, including the closing reception of DisArt’s weekend-long symposium “Disability Arts Now!”.
Maps will be provided in English and Spanish to help attendees navigate the exhibition locations, which will feature more than 400 artists.
