A pair of real estate executives have partnered to open a residential and commercial real estate brokerage firm.

Core Realty Partners said last month that it has opened its office off Muskegon Lake in downtown Muskegon, at 111 W. Western Ave.

The firm is being headed by John Essex, CEO and president at Port City Group Holdings, and Steve Mastella, a former partner and broker at Westwind Realty.

Mastella said the firm will sell, lease, manage, invest in, develop and finance local real estate.

“Steve and I both agree that the timing was right to launch,” Essex said.

The firm’s website features real estate searches by markets throughout the area: Muskegon, Muskegon Heights, North Muskegon, Grand Haven, Fruitport, Egelston, Ferrysburg, Montague, Norton Shores, Roosevelt Park, Spring Lake and Whitehall.

Core Realty Partners also said it will soon begin hiring agents.

The firm plans to offer agents an “aggressive, non-franchise compensation plan," as well as an "office to call home” and a “friendly and relaxed office atmosphere.”
