A pediatric practice is constructing a new medical building on land it has purchased in the area.
ABC Pediatrics, a general pediatric practice, purchased 1.16 acres of vacant land for its new space in Wyoming, at 4174 56th St. SW, according to NAI Wisinski of West Michigan, a commercial real estate brokerage, last week.
The practice will relocate the operation from its Grandville office, at 3050 Ivanrest SW, once the new facility has been completed, which is scheduled for next spring.
ABC Pediatrics also owns an office in Walker, at 3 Mile Rd. NW, which it will continue to operate.
ABC Pediatrics is a privately owned practice with five physicians, plus support staff.
More space and services
The practice chose to relocate its Grandville office, which was leased, because expansion at the space wasn’t possible.
The new facility will span 5,500 square feet, compared with the 1,800 square feet the practice occupies in Grandville.
Dr. Jennifer Perry of ABC Pediatrics said the additional space will allow the Wyoming office to provide the same breadth of services the practice offers out of its Walker office, including dietician services, lactation support with a lactation consultant and care management for complex medical issues.
The one-story medical building will feature a number of elements: patient exam rooms; consult rooms; nurses station; lab; physician work area; administration area; break room; and lobby.
Perry said the new location also will allow the practice to serve pediatric patients in the greater area, including Grandville, Byron Center, Hudsonville, Jenison and beyond.
“A new building will be fresh and exciting, but maintain the comfort that we love for our patients and their families to experience,” Perry said.
Perry said as a result of the expansion, ABC Pediatrics has hired one new physician who will join the practice when the new office opens. The practice also will be hiring nurses and staff.
She added the practice will be "accepting new patients" at the Wyoming location.
