A West Michigan pest control company is expanding in the Detroit region through an acquisition.

Kalamazoo-based Griffin Pest Solutions said last month it acquired Oak Park-based Pest Arrest.

The transaction is geared toward expanding the capabilities of both companies in the Detroit market.

"We have closely followed Pest Arrest's fast-paced growth and progress for years," said Pamela Blauvelt, VP of operations, Griffin Pest Solutions. "We appreciate their commitment to service delivery and quality. They also have a well-earned reputation for attracting skilled pest control professionals."

Pest Arrest provides pest control in multi-family housing.

The acquisition aims to provide a wider array of services and a quicker response time and also create stronger career and advancement opportunities for employees from both companies.

Pest Arrest's staff will join the Griffin Pest Solutions team and move their offices to Livonia in May.

Griffin Pest Solutions also has offices in Grand Rapids and Lansing.
