A physical therapy company has opened a new location along a major retail corridor in town.
Oak Brook, Illinois-based Athletico Physical Therapy said it opened the location last week in Grand Rapids, at 1600 E. Beltline Ave NE, just south of Knapp Street NE.
The company, which has more than 350 locations in nine states, opened its first West Michigan facility in May in Grand Rapids, at 5925 28th St. SE. It also has locations in metro Detroit and southern Michigan.
The new location's services include physical therapy, workers’ compensation services, manual therapy and complimentary injury screenings.
The company said that its physical therapy services include personalized treatment plans that provide rehabilitation options for a variety of conditions: back and neck pain; sport, work and auto injuries; muscle strains and sprains; post-operative care; joint replacement therapy; and more.
Athletico offers a range of services related to workers’ compensation: physical therapy; occupational and hand therapy; work conditioning; functional capacity evaluations; early intervention services; ergonomic evaluations; job analysis; fit for duty and post-offer testing.
The company's complimentary injury screenings provide patients with 30-minute free assessments by licensed clinicians, who review musculoskeletal complaints, assess movement impairments and discuss impacts on daily living activities.
The location will also provide early morning and evening hours, appointment scheduling 24-48 hours from initial contact, ongoing patient education on diagnosis, treatment plans and prescribed home exercise programs.
Shannon Lubs, facility manager of the new Athletico location, said she looks forward to being able to offer people “individualized, specialized physical therapy services.”
